    Lucy Jarvis

It didn’t take long for Lucy to realise there was something special about yoga. Her first class in her early 20s felt unlike anything she’d experienced—within days, she noticed the impact on her sleep, her mood, and her overall sense of calm.

After over a decade of being a student, she took the leap into teaching. Since then, Lucy has taught at some of Melbourne’s most loved studios, assisted on YTTs and Yin Yoga trainings, and run her own workshops and retreats. She was mentored in Yin by Jody Vassallo, and in 2023, began creating her own retreat offerings—spaces designed for nervous system reset, reflection, and true connection.

Lucy’s approach to yoga is light-hearted, inclusive, and grounded in lived experience. Her classes centre on storytelling and energetics, with space to pause, reflect and truly feel.

For Lucy, yoga isn’t just about movement—it’s about coming home to yourself. It’s about sitting with discomfort, regulating your nervous system, and building a practice that supports life off the mat, long after the class or retreat ends.

Not to perfect the pose, but to be with what’s real.

Your Accomodation

Step inside and feel time slow down.

Our retreat home spans two beautifully restored properties—both part of the historic Red Hill Church estate, originally built in 1885. With thoughtful restoration and a deep reverence for their heritage, these spaces have been brought back to life with vintage charm, warm textures, and an unmistakable sense of soul.

The main residence welcomes you with a striking sense of space, calm, and character. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area is the heart of the home—perfect for slow mornings, shared meals, and fireside chats. Around every corner, you'll find cozy nooks and quiet spots for rest or reflection, with the peaceful hum of nature all around. The attention to detail, beauty, and cleanliness is immediately felt, helping you land softly the moment you arrive.

Just next door, a second house adds more space and comfort, featuring two additional spacious bedrooms and the same soulful styling and thoughtful finishes.

The jewel of the property is the original 1911 chapel—now transformed into a serene and light-filled yoga shala. With soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the treetops, it’s the perfect container for practice, stillness, and connection.

Set against National Trust bushland and surrounded by greenery, this is a truly unique sanctuary for retreat. The accommodation includes a mix of private and twin-share rooms, with shared bathroom facilities, all designed to support your rest and renewal.

Retreat love

“I almost don’t want to tell you how great this retreat was because I want to keep it as my little secret, but it exceeded my expectations and then some. Lucy is the hostess with the mostest and every little detail was done with utmost love and care at the core. A truly nurturing, restorative and well treasured experience in my books”

“A truly magical experience with beautiful, like minded humans. Lucy curated a perfect mix of yoga, meditation and optional activities. It was so lovely to have the retreat catered by Ash and to feel cared for and looked after in every way. Even the activities that felt a little out of my comfort zone were delivered in a wonderfully safe and welcoming environment. Cannot wait for the next one xx”

“The retreat at King Parrot cottages run by Lucy, Steve and Oya was such a nourishing and beneficial experience. The facilitators created an amazing offering and looked after and supported all of the guests. I highly recommend this retreat for anyone interested in learning more about yoga and meditation and for those wanting some time to step away from the world for a while and be looked after”
