Your hosts

  • Lucy Jarvis with tattoos meditating in nature, wearing a red sleeveless top hosting a yoga and meditation retreat in Bali

    Lucy Jarvis

Host | Yoga | Yin | Mindful Movement

Lucy’s journey into yoga began over 15 years ago, sparked by a desire for deeper connection and self-reflection. Drawn to yoga’s focus on the inner landscape rather than external form, she now teaches a variety of styles always with the belief that yoga has the power to reset the nervous system and rekindle the mind-body connection. This thread runs through everything she shares.

Her retreats and classes go far beyond movement on the mat. Each practice is inclusive and infused with curiosity, play, and heart, an invitation to use yoga as a transformative experience. Lucy’s teaching emphasises breath and the felt sense, guiding students to tune inward, find their natural rhythm, and reconnect to self and the world around them.

Having assisted in Yoga trainings including 200hrs, Yin and retreats since 2019, Lucy began leading her own in 2023. Her approach is light-hearted and welcoming, reminding students that yoga is accessible to everyone — a practice for real life, not perfection.

Expect Lucy’s classes to weave storytelling, energetics, and moments of stillness — an opportunity to pause, reflect, and come home to yourself.

  • Steve Ross meditating in a peaceful, rustic setting in Bali with prayer flags and tropical plants

    Steve Ross

    Host | Meditation | Breath | Yin

Steve Ross has practiced various styles of yoga and meditation for most of his life and has been teaching for over 40 years.  He has explored in great depth the physical aspects of yoga as well as the philosophical and spiritual roots of yoga.

Ross lived for several years as a monk in the Vedic tradition and has ceaselessly sought out and reveled in the presence of some of the most notable masters of our time, both in India and elsewhere.

Author of the bestselling yoga book, Happy Yoga, Steve is honored to have the opportunity to share his vast knowledge and practical experience with other spiritual seekers.

What Steve shares is not merely a moment of focus or concentration; rather, it's a way of shifting awareness to bring the spirit of meditation into daily life.

With love and joyful abandon, Ross offers us a new way to live in a meditative existence, where tranquility, serenity, and unwavering happiness are found.

Steve's stories from India, America, and days with Fleetwood Mac are enthralling, and it’s hard not to be happy and curious with his light-hearted, easy manner.

Steve will teach various meditation techniques, Qigong, Yin + Ecstatic Breath

Retreat love

“The Inner States Bali retreat was the greatest gift I have ever afforded myself. The ability to disconnect from everyday life, and feel gently held and lead through an immersion of yoga and mediation practices has filled my mind/body/soul in ways I hadn’t released I was so depleted in. Not only was it an incredible week, but the recalibration of my central nervous system has rippled through my life and family since. Thank you Lucy and Steve, for your wisdoms, your practices, and your love. ”

“Lucy considers every detail in organising a wonderfully run retreat but importantly she also holds space for all abilities and levels of yoga experience and practice. At every point I felt welcome, seen and supported. Her retreats also see likeminded individuals joining so you can feel confident that you’ll be surrounded by a warm, fun and interesting group. The schedule is perfectly paced with a beautiful mix of classes and plenty of time for rest, contemplation and relaxation. Kommue’s food was beyond my expectations with so many delicious options - plus excellent cocktails!”

“Bali was a beautiful time to fill my heart and mind right up with nourished goodness. I’m so grateful to Lucy and Steve for such a special week of connection, amazing yoga, and the opportunity to turn inward. ”

“The Bali retreat was a perfect escape from the hubbub of my daily life. It was a good mix of introspection and activity and a great opportunity to share laughs and life with like minded people. Lucy is an amazing host, flexible, caring and the program she put together was well considered. Steve was generous in sharing his experiences and knowledge about meditation, breathing and yoga. I really appreciated the lighthearted approach to yoga and the soundtracks that were not the usual spa music. Thank you for an amazing experience- sign me up for another retreat.”

"Learning from Steve is seriously a special gift, its so rare to come across facilitators with so much lived experience and embodiment - he is the real deal. At first he made me question many things, but his simple and light hearted way of teaching meditation is incredible. I often refer back to the things i have learnt from him both during practice but also just in life in general.”

“I’ve been doing Inner States yoga for years, so I was super excited to finally book my first retreat. Lucy has such a unique teaching style—her classes always leave me feeling comfortable and energized. The retreats are a perfect blend of yoga, meditation, breathwork, and amazing food, making the whole experience feel complete and nourishing.

"Lucy is an amazing retreat host. Our time in Bali was so lovely with a great mix of activities, yoga, community and rest. Lucy had everything planned out so we could relax and enjoy all that was on offer. The teachings from both Lucy and Steve are life changing. I’ll be forever grateful. ”

"The perfect balance you need in a retreat - The right amount of yoga, meditation, journalling, breath work, venturing out for new experiences, amazing nourishing food and lovely people. Lucy's approach to yoga and retreats is very nurturing and attracts a great bunch of people. Highly recommend this beautiful experience. I feel rested, educated, nourished and accomplished after a week away with Lucy. ”
